A Method

The Five
Questions

Open any Bible. Read the Gospels with five questions in front of you. Write down every answer Jesus gives. Watch the pattern no one told you was there.

  1. 1

What does He say about Himself?

Identity. Origin. Authority. Every claim He makes about who He is.

  2. 2

What does He say about His Father?

Character. Name. Relationship. What distinguishes the Father from everything else called "god."

  3. 3

What did He come to do?

Mission. Purpose. The task He was sent to accomplish – in His own words.

  4. 4

    Where did He come from?

Pre-existence. Origin. The place He left to be here.

  5. 5

    What will soon take place?

Return. Restoration. Peace. Everything He said about what comes next.

01

Start in John

Open any Bible to the Gospel of John. Read from chapter 1 with the five questions in front of you.

02

Write it down

Every time Jesus answers one of the five questions, note the verse and what He said. Keep a running record.

03

See the pattern

By the time you finish all four Gospels, the dots connect themselves. The pattern is unmistakable.

Whether it's your first read or your thousandth – these five questions will make it feel like a first read.
