Privacy notes

Anderson Discoveries keeps personal data only when you choose to provide it. This page covers the email list, the supporter map, reading progress, and the Founders Club lounge.

Email list

If you join the email list, we store your email (and optional name) with Buttondown so we can send study updates. You can unsubscribe at any time from any message.

Supporter map

When you submit supporter map info, you create an account with email OTP and can later edit or permanently delete your submission.

  • Public map: city, country, and a supporter count only. Pins use the city center. No names, emails, phones, social handles, street addresses, or exact coordinates are shown to the public.
  • Private owner view: Israel can see the full submission, including optional street address and precise geocoded coordinates, so he can plan gatherings, visits, and events.
  • Contact consent: submitting grants permission for Israel to contact you about gatherings, visits, and events. Newsletter signup is a separate optional checkbox.
  • Retention: data is kept until you delete it. This map is standing, not a one-time trip list.
  • Deletion: use My supporter info to delete your data. That removes your private profile and decrements the public city count.

Map tiles are loaded from a map provider. City centers are looked up with OpenStreetMap. U.S. street addresses are geocoded on our servers with the U.S. Census Geocoder. Streets outside the U.S. are looked up with OpenStreetMap. Exact coordinates are never sent to the public browser map payload.

Founders Club lounge

There is a private gathering page for people who already give. Access is checked against the Stripe email you sign in with, or an owner override on the supporter map. It is not a purchased benefit. The address is not linked from the public site.

  • What we store: your email, whether access was granted, and any name, phone, social handles, website, or note you choose to leave so Israel can find you.
  • Who sees it: you see your own row. Israel sees the roster. It is not public.
  • Map match: if the same email is already on the supporter map, we copy those socials into the lounge form and keep the two records linked.

Reading progress

On study and article pages we record how far you scrolled and how long the page was open, so a later stats page can show you what you have already read.

  • Signed in: that progress is stored in your account. Only you can see it.
  • Not signed in: the same progress stays in this browser until you sign in, then it is saved to your account.
  • We do not store this for the homepage, the supporter map, admin pages, or videos (videos have their own watch history).

Questions: use the contact options on the About page.
